About
I am a Professor of Global Commerce at Soongsil University, Seoul. From August 2024 until July 2026, I served as President of the Korea Security Agency of Trade and Industry (KOSTI) while on leave from the university, and in July 2026 I returned to my faculty position. Previously, I served as head of the WTO team at KIEP and as an Assistant Secretary in the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea, where I was responsible for trade policy.
My research lies at the intersection of international economics and trade policy. I am particularly interested in applying quantitative and text-mining methods to analyze trade-related international agreements, with recent work focusing on WTO documents, digital trade regulation, trade & security, and the history of Korean trade policy.
